actually i still have fun with gw, i like playing my ranger. I was not attacking GW:EN, I just like killing stone summit dwarves better than most of the dungeons. I still have fun , its just in certain areas, i still enjoy the propehcies and gw:en areas, just differently.

I hate SF. Hate it. Got somebody to run me to get my Moa's Chick, that was enough. Don't think I'll ever go back.

GWEN is Anets best expansion, no question.

Eye for me for sure, SF was great and all cause it was at the beginnning and what not. But come on, gwen just is so big. If you cant find something you like to do in gwen you probably should quit GW

SF was better. Reasons:

a) It flowed better with the current game (ie, Prophecies)
b) It was VERY popular for months upon months till greens dropped and Factions came out
c) IT WAS FREE

They are so different it's very hard to compare the two. SF was new, introduced new things (greens etc) and was soooo fun at the time it came out. We had no idea what to expect, it was all new. GWEN is MUCH larger, great story. Both imho have GORGEOUS graphics. When you get down to it though, there really isn't a comparison between the two. They both are "expansions" but SF was much smaller and a freebie. GWEN is larger and has a better storyline, more variety etc but you'd kinda expect it to since it cost cash lol.

And regarding a post on the last page - people who quit GW before EotN would generally not be reading this forum. I hope.

dosent matter if the content is 30x as much it dosent matter how much content you add if the content is still crap.

I finished GWEN in 2 days and after that it's just grind and no replay value, dungeons are not cool.

I still like sorrow's furnace.

Sorrow's Furnace featured some new, funny and exciting quests (fetch me a cold one ^^) plus the introduction of green weapons. Great music score, and very tough back in those days. I still enjoy coming back to that place to complete an occasional quest.

In comparison, GW:EN is yet another chapter, without many surprising changes imo. Fun, but not enthralling as SF was to me.

That's why I voted for SF.

SF was OK.
I didn't care enough for GWEN to buy it.
OK > didn't care enough to buy it.
SF wins!

I voted for SF because, as mentioned, it was free. And while GW:EN is much larger, the excitement that SF generated was, IMHO, unmatched. Finally, I still love the quests in SF and still go back just for fun. When I finished GW:EN the first time, it just felt "done" and I didn't have a strong desire to play through it again.

I paid for SF when I bought prophecies. SF is brought into EOTN with the Moa Chick. I had only ever done 2 quests in SF across 10 characters. So I did the SF quests to get the Moa Chick.

I like Eotn and there are some really cool PvE spells.

What's with all the GW:EN hate, I love it. So they finally give monsters skillbars that make sense and they greatly improved the replay value and still people moan. GW:EN rocks balls ^^.

If SF came out now, players would be furious that "the new dungeon" didn't have an end chest guaranteeing at least one goodie for everyone.

People are only voting for SF to try to make a point. If they payed for it as an expansion they would be bitching till the worlds end.

SF > all of gwen. Not that I was a SF junkie by any means, but it was a fun (free!) update released when GW was still popular and it was well designed. GWEN by comparison, while much larger obviously, has too many things which remind me of why the game was better 2 years ago. It was an innovative free update for its time, and with GWEN I feel like I paid $40 for re-skins and lazy design.

is this a joke?

Omniclasm nailed it. People aren't actually comparing the expansions.. they are comparing time periods and their feels toward the game a whole during those times. It's completely inaccurate. They just say they like SF because that was back when the game was new. Get real people. The quality, content & quests in EOTN blow Sorrow's Furnace away. SF is 1 explorable area with some bland quests in it. The best thing about it was the Iron Forge Man.

To those that like SF so much, do you still play it today?
